Resource Room Learning Center has been named a 2026 Raleigh’s Best Gold Winner in Educational Services/Tutoring by The News & Observer!

In 2025, we were honored to receive the Bronze Award in the same category. This year, thanks to the incredible support of our students, families, and community, we brought home GOLD!

For our team, this recognition represents something much greater than an award. It reflects the trust families place in us every day and the relationships we have built throughout Holly Springs, Raleigh, and the surrounding Triangle communities.

We are incredibly proud of this achievement, but even more grateful to the people who made it possible.

A Recognition That Belongs to Our Community

Resource Room Learning Center was founded in 2015 by career educators Joe and Samara Cuccurullo with a simple belief: students deserve an educational experience built around their individual needs.

When we expanded to Holly Springs in 2021, we brought that same philosophy with us. We wanted to create something more comprehensive than a traditional tutoring center. Our vision was a place where families could find meaningful educational support throughout their child’s academic journey, from their earliest school experiences through high school graduation and college preparation.

Over the years, our programs have grown, our team has expanded, and thousands of hours have been spent working individually with students.

What has never changed is our commitment to meeting students where they are.

We believe that meaningful academic progress begins with understanding the individual student. Some students need help overcoming learning challenges. Others are looking for greater academic enrichment or opportunities to accelerate their education. Many need a learning environment that understands and accommodates the way they think and process information.

Every learner deserves the opportunity to succeed.

Receiving the 2025 Bronze Award was a tremendous honor. Earning Gold just one year later tells us that our community recognizes the value of this individualized approach.

More Than Tutoring: A Complete Learning Center for Every Student

While tutoring remains at the heart of our organization, Resource Room has grown into a comprehensive educational center serving students with a wide range of abilities, learning styles, and academic goals.

Our services include:

  • Individualized K–12 Tutoring: Personalized, one-on-one academic instruction in mathematics, reading, writing, English, science, social studies, and other core subjects. Our programs include early literacy development, homework support, advanced coursework, and AP-level instruction.
  • SAT, ACT, and AP Preparation: Targeted test preparation designed to identify areas for improvement, strengthen content knowledge, develop effective testing strategies, and help students achieve their academic goals.
  • College Admissions and Essay Advisement: Individualized support with college applications, personal statements, supplemental essays, admissions planning, and the decisions students face as they prepare for higher education.
  • Executive Functioning Coaching: Specialized instruction to help students develop essential skills such as organization, time management, planning, task initiation, and academic independence. These services are particularly valuable for students with ADHD and other executive functioning challenges.
  • IEP and 504 Advocacy: Educational guidance and advocacy for families navigating special education services, individualized education programs, accommodations, and school-based support systems.
  • Homeschool Co-Op and Academic Support: Structured educational opportunities for homeschooling families seeking professional instruction, small-group learning, academic enrichment, and meaningful peer interaction.
  • Pathways Academy: Our private high school program for neurodiverse students in grades 9–12. Pathways combines individualized academics, small-group instruction, executive functioning development, and social-emotional learning with opportunities to build independence and prepare for adulthood.
  • Autism and Behavioral Support: Educational programming for neurodiverse learners, including coordination with ABA and behavioral support professionals to help students develop communication, regulation, and independent living skills.
  • Track-Out, Summer, and Teacher-Workday Camps: Engaging programs that combine learning with creativity, hands-on STEAM activities, STEM exploration, and opportunities for students to develop friendships outside the traditional classroom.
  • Summer Bridge and Academic Enrichment: Personalized summer instruction designed to address learning gaps, reinforce academic skills, prevent summer learning loss, or help students prepare for more challenging coursework.

Together, these programs reflect our belief that educational support should never be one-size-fits-all.

Our goal is not simply to help a student improve a grade or perform better on an exam. We want students to develop the confidence, skills, and independence that will serve them well beyond the classroom.

Thank You to Our Students, Families, and Educators

Our students are the reason Resource Room exists. Every day, we have the privilege of watching students overcome challenges, discover strengths they didn’t know they had, and achieve goals that once seemed out of reach.

To our families, thank you for trusting us with something as important as your children’s education. Your confidence in our team, your recommendations to friends and neighbors, and your continued support have allowed our organization to grow.

To our extraordinary educators and support staff, this recognition is a reflection of your dedication. The care you bring to your work and the personal connections you build with students are what make Resource Room special.

We also want to express our gratitude to the greater Holly Springs and Raleigh communities. From local families and fellow educators to our community partners and neighboring businesses, your support has helped us become the organization we are today.

From Bronze to Gold, and We’re Just Getting Started

Being recognized among Raleigh’s Best in 2025 was a milestone for our learning center. Receiving the 2026 Gold Award for Educational Services/Tutoring is an achievement we will celebrate for years to come.

But this recognition is not the finish line.

We remain committed to expanding opportunities for students, strengthening our educational programs, and finding new ways to serve families throughout the Triangle.

Whether a student is learning to read, preparing for the SAT, navigating an IEP, or seeking a different approach to high school, we want Resource Room to be a place where that student feels understood, supported, and capable of success.

To everyone who voted, supported us, recommended us, or entrusted us with their child’s education: THANK YOU!

Last year, Bronze. This year, Gold. The future is bright.
